It was our great privilege to capture a family’s anticipation and delight as they were reunited with Dad after a nine month deployment. Dozens of wives, children, parents, and more than a few other photographers gathered at Fort Benning’s Freedom Hall dressed in their best fall outfits, each family claiming a small section of metal folding chairs as base. Diaper bags, strollers, jackets, snacks, bright handmade posters, and of course, kids, blanketed the seating areas for nearly two hours. My heart was especially blessed by the carefree groups of small children playing chase in the empty ceremony area, some of them playing with tiny American flags. When the Dads finally marched in, it was a joyous occasion. We hope you love these pictures.
