From time to time, we offer the opportunity to parents of newborns and babies of all ages to model for our studio and for companies like Feltman Brothers International, who provide our studio with exquisite, handmade heirloom clothing in exchange for beautiful portraiture of babies wearing these outfits for their Facebook page and sometimes for their website.
We are looking for babies and kids who are very easy to work with, who are not shy in front of the camera, and whose parents are available on very short notice. We are open from 10:00 until 4:00 on weekdays; we rarely take these pictures on weekends. Many times we are searching for a certain “look:” maybe it’s a blonde child with curly hair, or an African American baby who has chubby cheeks. We receive lots of pictures of gorgeous kids and if yours isn’t chosen the first time, please keep trying!
Newborn models are usually chosen to wear a certain outfit or to allow us to practice new techniques or use new props. Again, these babies are usually selected according to availability on a short notice, general health of the baby, and the gender of the baby (we may be looking for a baby to specifically wear pink or blue.)
Models usually receive the sitting fee and five digital images that can be enlarged up to an 8×10 size free. Additional images are available at our customary prices. Please note that since these sessions are to promote certain outfits and props, we are unable to incorporate the parents’ outfit choices, other siblings, or pose ideas into the sessions. Also, if at any time we feel that session is not going well (baby is crying or not participating), we reserve the right to end it immediately with no compensation to the parent unless a few pictures turned out. ALL PARENTS OF MODELS MUST SIGN A RELEASE FORM GIVING JILL WELCH PHOTOGRAPHY AND ANY OTHER APPROPRIATE COMPANY THE RIGHT TO USE THESE PICTURES FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES.
